Fake People

Do u know I hate fake people, the people that act like they are your true good friends until u tell them something that they problem don't like but they make it seem like they don't and they really do.....I think that's some funny stuff! Even when u try not to like them but u do its like when the devil was Jesus good friend and until Jesus finds out that he goes not like him so he kicked him out of heaven... but getting of the subject I found out when u don't rush love or liking someone then God does not send them ur way so all u have to do is BE Patient .

What are you doing

I love New Orleans!!! Well at this point i don't even know, how long we have been down here but one thing is for sure we are having too much fun. It's about 2 A.M. AND we are playing a game called I plead the 1,2,3,4, FIFTH. It's time to sleep. I love it. Yesterday I preached for the second time and every thing that could go wrong did go wrong the slides went wrong they were all out of sync the mike wouldn't work and things went wrong. But GOD has a strange way to minister to people. Because even though after I was done preaching and I was discouraged and upset and PD didn't help (but that was part of God's Plan for me that night) Someone got a blessing. Praise GOD.

The two day mark

We have been here for a few days and we have had our little skirmishes, but at this point things are starting to turn around for the better. T.J. preached a 5 star sermon last night about the man(God) who made mud and clay. Things are going well and I am having fun.

Through our struggles God is there!

Yesterday was July 19th and is started out a beutiful July day in Alabama. The humidity was somthing that we all had to get used to but the fact that we were on our way to New Orleans made up for it. On our way the devil decided that he needed to interven and make our van start to over heat. Pastor Dixon had to pull over to the side of the road and turn off the car which meant that there was no air conditioning. Nine people in one van without air conditioning is not a beutiful thing. While all of us kids were sitting in that van we decided to call on God to get us through this. After a little while of sitting on the side of the road, Pastor Dixon was able to start up the van and drive it to the nearest exit. When we got off the high way there was a Ford dealership right off that exit. Now who else but God could make it so that our van broke down near the exit where there was a Ford dealership near by. While we were at the Ford dealership Pastor Dixon talked to the people there and told them about what we were prepairing to do. One of the people that worked there actually offered up his house to us to stay over at night. That right there was a blessing but Pastor Dixon ended up getting us a hotel. While we were leaving, countless people told us that they would be praying for us. While your reading this just sit there and contemplate on that. Complete strangers were praying for us. When we got to the hotel God made it so that the lady at the front counter let us fit more people in a room that we were aloud to. Only God can work on peoples heart like that. After today all I can say is that God is there through our struggles!

From tragedy to comedy

The time: 9:22 a.m.
The Location: Tuscalosa Alabama.
The Situtation: Yesterday at some point after noon the church van broke broke down. Now I personally didn't realize the situation until I was in the van joking around. We made the best of a sticky situation and I made tragedy turn into comedy. By joking around I was able to completly forget about how bad the situation was and focus on making the people around me laugh and have a good time. So far I have really enjoyed the company of the people around me.And at this point if I were asked to do this again i definately would.

The Broken Situation...

Today on July 19 the devil struck his first blow. Whenever something good is trying to be done and it is bound to succeed, the devil will always try to ruin and disrupt the plan that God has lead us to follow.  You see today we had engine trouble. Because of this engine trouble we had to stop on the side of the road. But we serve a higher power. God saw it so that a Ford station was three miles down the road at the next exit. Not only that but that an affordable hotel was about a mile and a half down the road. Now we are down at the hotel, things may not go as planned, but I know that in the end the Lord's will WILL be done.

Layover in Tuscaloosa

Sis. Dixon (SD): When it rains, it pours! We had and enjoyable time the first day/evening of the trip. We arrived in Huntsville, Alabama and was greeted at the door by Lisa Crockett and Layla. We had an opportunity to eat a home cooked meal. Delicious! However, I did not get to sleep as long as I would have liked, but...that's ok. :) The young men even showcased their talents the next morning by cooking breakfast. I was impressed! Upon leaving, we stopped off at Oakwood College to give the kids a tour of the campus and to find out what the school had to offer. AWWW! It brought back memories of when I attended here when I was only a little older than these young people. I was able to see my old room, where I hung out, etc. And, of course, it did not help to see one of the students there that I remembered as a 7 or 8 year old kid, now turned sophomore in college. That just dated me, boy I feel old! But then it also felt good when someone mistook me for a student. :) Well, after our tour, we were back on the road headed towards New Orleans. All was going well, we had just stopped to eat then whammo! --the church van began to overheat. Of course, that put a damper on things! Now, we have to stay over in a hotel. But suprisingly, the kids are handling this like troopers. All I can say is Satan is busy! He knows that we are about to do the Lord's business and he is pulling out his arsenal to try our faith. But did we really expect everything to flow smoothly without Satan attempting to foil the Lord's work? I think the hardest part was having to call parents and try to explain things to them. But, most of the parents took the news in stride. After meeting in a prayer circle, we all feel much better! Marlene and I even had some therapy by shopping at Wally World (Walmart). :) Shopping always puts a smile on your face. Tomorrow WILL be a better day!

Count Down to mission

PD (Pastor Dixon)- Another Sabbath day is here and I have talked to the contact church today and everything is go! We are to give away $20,000 to 4-5 families, (that will be about 2500.00 to 5000.00 each). This money was collected by Pathfinders and Youth from around the North American Division. I pray that this will only be the beginning of giving for our members in New Orleans and the Gulf coast area. It is my goal that this documentary will bring about more concern by the church as a whole. There are still people who are in great need. I have been given many stories already about the needs of the saints. We must not forget our mission and commission to the world.

Pre-New Orleans Trip

PD (Pastor Dixon)-It is about 1am and I am really getting excited about what is about to take place. I am working on the packing list and I don't remember what young people should bring with them. I am getting old. Many things are going right but also many things have gone wrong. The devil is not taking a break, so neither will we. Lord, please be with our trip and bless the work the youth will be doing in New Orleans. Amen.
